Located directly across from REI, Velocity Art and Design is a place in which customers can exercise their passion for life by exploring well designed products that delight the heart. The antithesis of the “disposable” culture, Velocity is filled with high quality, well designed objects that are meant to be deeply enjoyed every day.
Velocity only represents companies that sell high quality products, closely monitor production standards, provide a high quality of life for employees and a pleasant purchasing experience. Perhaps some profit may be lost when a certain product line is dropped because it doesn’t meet the store’s high standards. But then, profit isn’t the only bottom line. Passion, justice, equity, joy, and balance rank at the top of Velocity’s priority list.
Invested in the community, the showroom also provides generous space in which local artists can showcase their work. The backdrop of the LEED certified building with its simple finishes, reclaimed woods, and low v.o.c. paint provides a perfect setting for the casual drop-in or purposeful art aficionado to browse and contemplate.
All in all the people at Velocity believe that the most sustainable purchase a person can make is to buy what she or he loves. Because if the object is loved and worthy of love, it’s going to stay out of the landfill for a really long time.
