[frequently asked questions]

Q: Why do you have an asterisk as your logo?
A: We chose the asterisk for several reasons. 1. It denotes that there is "more to the story", more information to be provided. Time and time again we find that it is the story behind a product or service that is a vital component to sustainability. At a glance, you might not know that an evening gown is a vintage piece, your salad is organic or a Banana Republic store was built with sustainably harvested wood...until you ask for the story behind it. The very fact that the asterisk is there at the end of our name and our logo invites conversation. 2. We feel that the confluence of lines that form an asterisk represent the many and diverse style industries coming together around a common objective...sustainability. 3. It's simple and easy...it's all about branding. 4. More branding...it still prints well in black and white graphics.

Q: What's with those 'ads' in SASS Magazine?
A: Like all great design magazines that appeal to your hearts, minds and pocketbooks with pages of advertising leading up to that ellusive contents page, SASS too will know have a few stunning sponsorship ads en route to each issue's contents page. We hope you don't mind. Each sponsor has been hand-picked with respect to both their outstanding design and sustainability elements.
