Aspen Skiing Company became the first ski resort in the U.S. to achieve ISO 14001 certification, for 'GreenTrack,' its environmental management program. The certification insures that sustainability occurs not just at a project level, but as a consistent, company-wide integration of environmental management. From the two LEED-certified buildings on mountain, to biodiesel in all its snowcats, to the employee funded Environment Foudation, which has donated over $650,000 to local ecology efforts, the ISO 14001 certification will help Aspen continue its industry leadership through 2004 and beyond.
