Jessica Bronesky is a member of the founding team of Benven LLC and currently a student at Wharton. Her goal is to apply business solutions to social problems and, through products like TerraPass to empower individuals to counteract the environmental impact of their everyday activities. She is eagerly awaiting her move back to the west coast this summer.

Gretchen Hamm has spent ten years in marketing for ad agencies, creative companies, large corporations and is now working to encourage the use of sustainable materials in home furnishings industry. Raised by her father to reuse, recycle, and repair as much as possible, she is committed to promoting companies who actively pursue ecological options in producing consumer goods. Gretchen also represents artists in the Pacific Northwest who create with recycled materials by distributing their work in stores and through cushlife.com.

As Senior Marketing and Communications Officer at PATH, Ellen Cole leads the international non-profit's brand management, media relations, community outreach, and marketing efforts. Prior to arriving at PATH, she managed communications and fundraising for Global Partnerships, a non-profit that supports microcredit village banks in Central America. While there, she led many "social tourism" trips to the region to introduce donors, reporters, and government officials to the world of small loans to the very poor for starting small businesses. Ellen's career in the non-profit world was preceded by many years in advertising, marketing, and communications in the publishing industry; she was Advertising Director at Seattle Weekly before making the jump. She is happy to be utilizing her skills and expertise to make the world a better place, but she misses the swag from her advertising days...

Paul R. Ehrlich is the President for the Center for Conservation Biology, and the Bing Professor of Population Studies at Stanford University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, and is the co-founder with Peter H. Raven of the field of coevolution. Dr. Ehrlich has pursued long-term studies of the structure, dynamics, and genetics of natural butterfly populations. He has also been a pioneer in alerting the public to the problems of overpopulation, and in raising issues of population, resources, and the environment as matters of public policy.

Ryan Dwayne Hawkes is a student at Antioch University Seattle. Studying for a Masters in Environment and Community, he is focusing on creating sustainable systems for local communities. Raised in the surburbs of Seattle, he recognizes the glaring need for connecting ideas around sustainability and lifestyle choices to broader audiences. With increases in economic and environmental instability globally, he believes increased control of local resources offers communities greater opportunities to affect change. He is also on the Board of Directors at the P-Patch Trust in Seattle, preserving land for community gardens.

Shelley Preston is a full-time feature reporter for The Ledger in Lakeland, Florida where she writes about food and fashion. She is interested in promoting sustainable lifestyles, enjoys asian cuisine and visiting cities where it's easy to get around on foot or public transportation.
