emp sneakers. Recycled rubber belts. Messenger bags and purses made from discarded highway billboards. A chair fashioned from corrugated fiberboard. Sound like stuff you'd buy from a tie-dyed vendor selling wears from the back of his VW van? Oh contraire; you've just been introduced to just a few of the plethora of products available from Vivavi.

Soda pop caps make this one hip belt. |
The Soda Cap Belt takes the art of recycling pop culture to a whole new level. Made by Littlearth from recycled rubber and studded with soda pop bottle caps, the belt has a twin brother with beer caps for those who prefer a malted barley pop over the sugary sweetness of soda. Form indeed follows function all the way around both belts: the authentic seat-belt buckle closure houses its own bottle opener. So have a drink, and get started on a belt of your own design.

Get yourself a "brand" new bag. |
A messenger bag or purse fashioned from a highway billboard? For those of you who feel like you've wandered into a bad episode of "The Jetson's" or maybe a casting call for "Back to the Future II," don't fret; these are for real. Each bag is made from super-strong, waterproof and tear-resistant vinyl that really used to sell gas or hamburgers on the side of some highway; as such, each one is also a true original and completely unique. Sadly, specific branding orders can't be filled, so I guess I'll have to make my own Hooters billboard bag. Damn.

This chair rocks. |
Finally, inspired by architect Frank Gehry (who has Los Angeles' Disney Concert Hall and Seattle's Experience Music Project to his credit) comes the Rocking Chaise and Side Chair, made from remarkably light, functional and durable corrugated fiberboard. The people at Levy Design and Manufacturing have taken the architectural knowledge that an arch with the just the right curve has unsurpassed support and applied it to their corrugated chairs. Built from recycled and easily recyclable materials, these chairs raise the bar for truly intelligent design.

Vy & Elle have more reused billboard bags than you can shake a stick at. They're from the road, for the road, and if you can't find one that fits you, you must not have anything to take anywhere.
