Travel: Hyatt Hotels
The Hyatt Regency Dallas and the Hyatt Regency DFW are the nation’s largest hospitality industry purchaser of renewable energy and one of two Dallas’ commercial purchasers of 100 percent renewable electricity. Together, the hotels will purchase about 34 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy annually. By buying renewable energy, these Hyatt hotels, each using an average of 1,416 megawatt-hours per month, will help avoid as much air pollution as is generated annually by more than 4,400 cars – equivalent to not driving approximately 55 million miles. The hotels will buy their power from Austin-based Green Mountain Energy, who hopes this purchase will leverage a growing preference for renewable energy. |
