Vail (the Town) Follows Resorts' Green Lead
October 20, 2006
Grist reports that the resort town of Vail, CO is on a mission to become one of the most environmentally progressive communities in the US; they've started by buying wind power credits to offset the community's municipal operations.
The program makes Vail the first municipality in the country to offset all of its energy use with wind power, which makes a lot of sense: global warming means less snow; less snow means less business for the resort and surrounding community, which leads to less money for all concerned. It's great to see that being green to save green is catching on!
