The UK's Environment Agency have put together a list of the "Top 100 Eco-Heroes" as voted by their peers. Topping the list are Rachel Carson, E.F Schumacher, and Jonathon Porritt. The inclusion of some lesser-known names is notable.
Aside from some usual suspects like Al Gore & HRH Prince Charles, "some of these people aren’t nearly as well-recognised for their contribution to our planet’s welfare as they should be. We hope this poll will go some way towards putting that right," says Mark Funnell, Managing Editor of Your Environment, the Environment Agency’s quarterly magazine for environmental professionals and consumers.
