After being established in 1988 with the goal to to produce premium quality wines with minimal environmental impact, Grove Mill winery has taken it a step further: they claim to be the first carbon neutral winery, from grape to bottle to your table. Their sustainable efforts don't stop their, though, with habitat restoration, greywater recycling and organic mulch as fertilizer helping accredit the winery with Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand for its practices in the winery and vineyards.
