Roger Ebert on An Inconvenient Truth
June 5, 2006
Roger Ebert reviews An Inconvient Truth, Al Gore's documentary about the perils of climate change that is making a big splash in the move world. What did Ebert think? "In 39 years, I have never written these words in a movie review, but here they are: You owe it to yourself to see this film."
He continues, "If you do not, and you have grandchildren, you should explain to them why you decided not to." Ebert found the film engaging and fascinating, and it affected him to the point of taking part of his review to go over the things we can all do to help mitigate climate change: "...encourage the development of alternative energy sources: Solar, wind, tidal, and, yes, nuclear. Move quickly toward hybrid and electric cars. Pour money into public transit, and subsidize the fares. Save energy in our houses." He even walked around the house, turning off all the lights, when he got home.
