Umbrella Inside Out

SSF is happy to be co-sponsoring Umbrella Inside Out, the first design competition organized by TreeHugger.com in collaboration with I.D. Magazine. The competition is looking for either an innovative, Cradle-to-Cradle(R)-type umbrella design or a women's couture garment fashioned from old umbrellas.

Swilken Bench

The indoor/outdoor Swilken bench, made by Acronym Designs, uses the cutoff from the manufacaturing of reclaimed flooring, making the piece twice rclaimed (this material was previously burned or discarded). The form was inspired by the Swilken Bridge on the 18th green at Scotland's St. Andrew's golf course.
