As you know, there are lots of big social and environmental challenges facing our world, from global warming and hunger to habitat loss and child immunizations. These challenges sometimes seem overwhelming. The good news is by making more conscious and strategic business choices, companies and organizations, as well as individuals CAN AND DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Along with our members and supporters, SSF is out to save the world in Style. With chapters of SSF sprouting up around the world, dozens of projects under our belt and hundreds of collaborations with companies and other organizations along the way, we think we're off to a pretty good start.
Creating big, fast change in fun, positive and creative ways isn't easy though, especially in companies and organizations. Well, we're here to help. SSF offers a range of services to our members to inspire and assist them in integrating sustainability into their work. Below you'll find information on some of our most popular services:
Consulting | We offer a sliding scale for our consulting with businesses and organizations on everything from facilitation and strategic planning to new products and marketing campaigns. Just drop us a line to get things started. Two of our most popular consulting subjects are our Triple Target Sustainabilitysm (TTS) and Sustainable Retail Partnershipsm (SRP) frameworks. You will find more on these below.
Lectures & Presentations | SSF is always available to lecture or present on our programs, on sustainable design, on sustainability in general, etc. to audiences of all kinds. We've worked with middle schools, high schools, and colleges, as well as companies and organizations ranging from very small boutiques and nonprofits to multinational corporations and international NGOs.
Strategy Salons | One of our membership perks for company/organization members is the opportunity to schedule a half day 'Strategy Salon'. Strategy Salons are intended to be half day, informal, off-site events in which key staff members come together to learn about issues and trends in sustainability, as well as how best to integrate sustainability into their work in ways that create value for their company and it’s stakeholders. Most importantly, because SSF ‘gets’ the importance of both good style/design and sustainability, we are able to present sustainability in a way that appeal to both operations and/or 'the moneymaker' mindsets. Strategy Salons typically include our Sustainability Groundrules, Sustainability 101 workshop, and our Triple Target Sustainabilitysm (TTS) and Sustainable Retail Partnershipsm (SRP) frameworks. Strategy salons are led by SSF Lifestyle Ambassador & Co-founder Sean Schmidt.
Sustainability 101, 201 | Our 101 and 201 workshop series provides people from all backgrounds a baseline level of information and understanding about social responsibility and environmental stewardship. With just a little bit of science and a lot of sage advice, the workshops ease the participants into a better understanding of sustainability. Sustainability 101 suffices for many needs, but for those looking for a more detailed look into sustainability, we offer our 201 workshop.
SBD Groundrules | Our members tell us our list of 10 Sustainable Business & Developmemt (SBD) Groundrules is priceless. We're not sure if its the humor or the common sense approach that makes our members rave about them but our SBD Groundrules remain one of our most popular modules.
Sustainable Retail Partnershipsm (SRP) | Sustainable Retail Partnershipsm (SRP) is a framework that SSF developed to better understand and optimize how companies can work with their vendors to create value throughout the value chain of their products by creating three channels of communication and coopration: product knowledge, operations, and best practices.
Triple Target Sustainabilitysm (TTS) | Triple Target Sustainabilitysm (TTS) is a framework for sustainable business and development that SSF developed in response to the triple bottom line coined by John Elkington in 1994. By focusing on generating sales, reducing expenses, and strengthening stakeholder relationships, TTS essentially translates the triple bottom line concept into business vocabulary and provides a framework for integrating broad sustainability into core business strategy. Best of all, TTS can be applied in many sectors, from business and healthcare to agencies and nonprofits.
