[seattle stylesheet] restyle for fall
Editor's note...
Yes fellow Seattlites...it's Fall, it's very Fall. Time to break out those warm cozy sweaters, fix youself up an organic shade-grown latte and plug in your favorite DVD rental...Fall has arrived in Seattle. If we're lucky, we'll sneak in a few more toasty days before it's all over but chances are the leaves will have already started turning their brilliant colors by then. We hope this Stylesheet finds you well: well rested after labor day and well prepared for both warm and cold days ahead. Bring on the layers.
As always, if you have a question, comment or suggestion for the next stylesheet, or you'd like to become a stylesheet sponsor, we'd love to hear from you. Email us at or give us a ring at 206.324.4850.
Natural Selections...looking fabulous, living well
- Biofournil | This French bakery in Belltown located at 2507 4th Avenue has everything going for it. Great location, wonderful staff and best of all delicious fresh pastries that are...organic. Can you believe it!
- Eddie Bauer | You cannot have missed the fabulous ad campaign in all the major magazines Eddie Bauer has produced to benefit the Environmental Media Association. You can join the fun by buying one of these 100% organic Ts.
- Cafe Maree | Vibrant Coffee in Fairness. We couldn't believe our luck in finding this little yellow jem in Greenlake. Cafe Maree offers organic shade grown coffee and an ambience that can't be beat. Located at 6560 Latona Ave NE, it's just around the corner from the Albertson's store.
- Cutter & Buck | We were so pleased to hear about Seattle based sportswear company Cutter & Bucks to Integrity Pique polo shirt. "Style meets substance" as they put it. Though they no longer have retail stores, you can shop to you heart's content on their website.
- Smart Car | Last but not least is the introduction of the cuter than cute car that took Europe by storm...the Smartcar. Yes, the Smartcar is finally available in the US and the lines are already forming.
Quick Picks...doing good
- Cascadia Green Building Council | sustainability capacity building in the Washington, Oregon and British Columbia bioregion.
- FareStart | How much do we all love FareStart Cafes? From some of Seattle's greatest chefs outdoing themselves to a great education and training program for the community, it's a great way to eat well and do good.
- Earth Corps | With a tagline like "Local Resotration. Global Leadership" you know it's gotta be good. EarthCorps has been around for a long time and remains one of the best ways for young people and adults to volunteer and help restore natural places.
- 2004 AIDS Walk | Yes, it's that time of year again, time to walk for change in AIDS awareness and research. Sign up yourself, join your company team or start your own team.
The Horizon: What's on it...local sustainable style
- September 11 - October 2 | Celebrate Arts in Ballard | From recycled art and fashion to film and music this Ballard bash has it all.
