If you haven't picked up Surface Magazine's new issue on water...GO DO IT RIGHT NOW! This is one of the best 'sustainable style' treatments of a key environmental issue in a long time. There are several articles on water topics (water quality, conservation, etc.) as well as the requisite over-the-top-cool fashion editorials that incorporate water themes.

The Tesla Roadster has been making news all over the world (we spied it last week) following it's big unveiling last week, and the good people at AutoblogGreen have tracked down the Chairman of Tesla Motors for a chat about the hot electric roadster. Elon Musk talks at length about Tesla Motors, the future of electric vehicles and why the Prius is a gas-guzzler. They've got big plans for the car that can do 0-60 in about four seconds, goes about 250 miles on each charge, which, when you do the math, works out to about 135 miles per gallon, and a cost of one penny per mile! Included in the future is a red carpet arrival at the Oscars, and maybe even more models for the family, Mom and Pop, and more. It's their weekly two-part series where they chat with leading environmentalists and sustainable lifestyle practitioners; they answer the editor's questions first, and readers second. The editor's questions are up; Tierra has some great answers to their questions. Among our favorites, when talking about her company, is how they "show people that caring about the environment doesn't mean compromising your sense of style." She also mentions SSF pal Summer Rayne Oakes (who looks great in those jeans!) who is helping to prove that environmentalists can be sexy, too.

Last weekend one of my best friends treated me to one the top ten food experiences in my life. This is an area I am constantly researching, believe me, I love being a “foody”. I learned so much about where the restaurant buys their food locally, how they select their food and how we can too. I learned so much and have truly been inspired to keep on the path of cooking seasonally with local foods that are organic…how perfect.
